Our little Pill

Savannah is quite the handful. Today, we ran to Matt's office for a minute to meet with someone. Matt was making a few copies and was showing me something when a door behind us suddenly slammed shut. I turned to see that Savannah had walked into someone's office and slammed the door behind her (she is really into shutting doors lately). Of course, just as we feared, the door was locked. We were a little panicked because Matt didn't have keys to the room and we were there alone. There wasn't even a window or anything to see her. Matt started calling people to try to find a key and I was trying to talk to Savannah to calm her down. She kept crying at the door saying "mommy, mommy". It was really sad. We shoved m&m's under the door and that seemed to keep her happy. Finally, Matt kicked at the handle long enough that it opened. She was just standing there with a mouth full of m&m's. You would think she would have learned her lesson, but she continues to slam doors whenever she gets a chance....such a stinker!

Get to know us a little!

I have seen this on a few blogs and think it is cute! Since Angie officially tagged me to do it, and I obviously need something to post, I thought I would fill it out:

What is his name? Matthew Levi
How long have you been married? 2 years and 8 months!
How long did you date? About 8 months. A long time around here.
How old is he? 25 in a few days.
Who eats more? Matt for sure, but Im no sissy eater myself.
Who said I love you first? Matt...he needed a little encouragement though. He was kinda chicken.
Who is taller? Matt
Who sings better? Well, we both sing all of the time, but probally shouldn't.
Who is smarter? Depends. Both of us are smart little cookies!
Whose temper is worse? Hard to say, I don't think either of us have bad tempers. It's probally me.
Who does the laundry? Me
Who does the dishes? Me
Who pays the bills? Me
Who mows the lawn? This is the first time we will have a lawn to mow, but Matt will do it. I might sometimes because I think it is fun. Sadly, I have only used a lawn mower a couple of times in my life.
Who cooks dinner? I do, but not as often as I should.
Who drives when you are together? Usually Matt. Sometimes I sneak into the drivers seat though.
Who is more stubborn? I would say he is and he would say I was. That's because we are both pretty stubborn.
Who is the first to admit when they are wrong? I'm not sure either of us ever have admitted to being wrong. (see above question)
Whose parents do you see the most? My parents live closer to us.
Who proposed? Matt, of course.
Who has more friends? All of our friends are the same people, so I would say we are even. Matt actually has more friends than me and I just assume they are my friends too. I am the more talkative one, so sometimes I make new friends.
Who has more siblings? Matt has four sisters and four brothers. I have one sister and five brothers...He wins.
Who wears the pants in the family? Matt (or so he likes to think, but we all know the wife does)

I guess I tag whoever...Maybe Katie, or Mike and Tiffany

Welcome Kaden Lavell Kolste!!

We have a new cousin this week! We are so excited about it! Matt's twin brother and his wife had a baby boy on the 18th. He is so sweet! We are excited he made it before Christmas! We don't have any of our own pictures, so check him out by going to Mike and Tiffany's link!!

More Christmas!!!

We are finally getting a little settled in our house. We have a tree up...nothing spectacular, but we are excited to have it feel like Christmas! I also added a few more picures of Matt's homemade Christmas decorations:

I love these cute little houses!

The red bird in the spray-painted gold nest finds its way toward the back of the tree every year, but we still like it!

This sweet Santa Claus can easily be made with a toilet paper roll and some felt material if anyone wants one.

A Christmas Story!

I have the cutest husband ever and when he was little he wrote the cutest Christmas story every. Luckily, his mom saved all of the Christmas stuff he made and gave it to us when we got married.
Enjoy:

Santa and the Dog by Matthew Kolste

This book is dedicated to Mom and Dad. They take me to school each day.

Once upon a time, there was an old house in the woods.

One Christmas Santa came and the dog scared him away.

So in the morning when the kids woke up there were no presents.

Then they cried.

Santa came back the next year.

The dog did not scare him away.

The End.

My name is Matthew Kolste. I am a second grader at Highwood. I live at home with my parents. I have three brothers and four sisters. (He actually has four brothers)
My favorite subject in school is reading. Three of my favorite hobbies include playing guns, playing cowboys, and riding horses. Someday I hope to become a cowboy.

Sooooo Cute!!!

Cruise!!

Finally I have a minute to put some pictures up. Matt's work took us on a cruise to Mexico! It was a lot of fun. We LOVED Mexico! I wasn't too crazy about the boat itself after a while, because I was pretty sick. But all together, we had a great time. It was fun having a lot of people we knew with us! We missed Savannah a lot though. Most of the pictures I took were with a little disposable camera, so here are a couple I took with our other one:

The jungle in Pureto Vallarta was beautiful!! We drove up through them, then took zip-lines that crossed back and forth over the valley. It was a lot of fun!

Puerto Vallarta--- I was trying to fit in with the natives.

In Cabo San Lucas, we paid this guy to take us around. I thought the name of his boat was pretty funny. He had huge speakers in it and would blast music as we drove around.

Mazatlan

Mazatlan--- We took Catamarans out to an island to do some snorkeling.

Every evening when we came back to our room, it was clean and had a towel folded into a different animal!

Cabo San Lucas--These rocks are in "Pirates of the Caribean"

We closed on our house the day after we got home, so it has been a busy week. We are officially in the house now...just have a lot of unpacking to do.

Big News!!

Well, you guessed right! We are not very good secret keepers. I have been sick too, so that doesn't help us keep it secret either. We are really excited though. We are thinking it will be another July baby!!!
Cruise pictures to come...

We have had a great Thanksgiving weekend! We spent time at my parents where we got to visit and eat lots of yummy food! We have so much to be Thankful for!
To make things even better, BYU beat Utah in the football game!
We have been so busy, so I haven't really posted this week, and now it will be a while again. Matt's work is taking us on a trip. Should be fun. We will be sure to post lots of pictures when we get back, plus Savannah has some big news to post.
But for now...here are a few pictures of our Thanksgiving:

hey!

Thanks for your comments everyone! To answer your questions, We had our pictures taken from Mary Clark. She worked with us with APX our first summer in Indiana. She has a studio in Murray now. Anyway, she does a really good job. If you want to see her website, I think it is photographybydmc.com and a blog page that is the same only .blogspot.com
Also...Our house is in Mapleton. I guess I forgot to say that. We really like it because it is out of town a little bit, but still pretty close to Matt's work.
ps...our camera is broken! I am sad about it. The screen broke and it will cost so much to fix, I think we may as well buy a new camera. Hopefully we will figure it out soon. Until then, probally no pictures.

Tagged!!

Okay Okay...I have been tagged by a bajillion people and have not ever done it because I can't ever think of anything to say. So, one tag is 6 funny things about me and one is a list of 5 things for different topics. I will do both but for now here are 6 quirky things that I don't really think seem all that quirky:
1. I can NOT stand it when someone pushes my eyebrows the wrong way, or their own for that matter. It makes me gag. Really. I am feeling a little sqeamish just thinking about it right now. I only discovered this was strange a few years ago. I thought that kind of stuff made everyone puke!!
2. I always hide from our mailman. We have a big window in the front of the house, and if I am in the living room when he is coming to put mail in our box, I hurry and duck. Im not sure why. I am not scared of him or anything, he seems pretty nice (he even wore a Tigger suit on Halloween with the tail and everything), it is just an impulse. Sometimes, if I am sitting on the couch by the window, I hurry and lay down against the back, so he cant see me in here. Im sure if he ever does see me hiding from him, he would think I was a wacko!
3. I make up little songs all the time. I am always singing to Savannah about everything. Matt does it too. We will sing about changing a diaper, getting in the tubby-tub...you name it, we can make up a song about it.
4. Im pretty sure I was on the Frienship Patrol in 3rd grade. I'm not sure what the Friendship Patrol does. I think we were supposed to make sure everyone had a friend and no one fought. I could be making this all up, but if so, then I made up a little theme song too. I remember singing it: "We're the Friendship Patrol, Ya! the Friendship Patrol, Ya!"
5. I am afraid of big blow-up figures people always put in their yard. They are kind of creepy to me. Just driving past them only scares me little, but there is no way you are getting me to walk past them alone in the dark.
6. I have finger toes. I can pick most things up off the ground with my toes. Sometimes I pinch my husband with them, and once just to see if I could, I tied a shoe lace with my toes. They aren't very cute toes, but awfully useful.

Well there you have it. I think everyone I know has been tagged in one way or another, so if you read this and you havent been tagged...now you have. Sorry it was so long!

Big News

Well, we bought a house! I guess it is not completley official, but we made and offer and it was accepted. We are pretty excited about it. It is such a big decision. Anyway... We will move in the first week of December. Pictures will come soon.
Oh! and other news.... I got bucked off a horse yesterday and it hurt!

Montana!!

I know this will surprise everyone, but we took another road trip this week. We headed up to Montana for the deer hunt. We have gone every year since we were dating. But this will probally be the last year Matt can hunt in Montana since we are trying to buy a house and he will lose residency there. I will have to post pics of his deer later. I don't have any on my camera. Anyway, we had a good time even though it was a short trip. We love Montana!

Her cousin, Maddie, recieved a sweet new ride for her birthday. It was pretty cute because they crammed in there and went crusin. Savannah was a little more excited about the ponies in her hand (the girl is obsessed with horses) but she had a good time.

Savannah with her Great Grandparents (Grandpa and Grandma Grapes) She is so squirmey and will never sit with anyone for a picture, so we had to put her on the floor with toys.

Savannah had a good time playing with her cousins. They kept hiding from her and when she would come look for them, they would jump out and growl at her. She would then run for her life to me. It was pretty cute!

Halloween!!

Here are pictures of Savannah in her Halloween costume. She was soooo cute!!!

Trick or Treating at Nana's

Wednesday, October 31, 2007

For a FHE activity I thought it would be fun to go to pumpkin land here in Orem. I had heard it was a really cool little place. We didn't have a whole lot of time, but I dragged Matt and Savannah there determined to get some cute pumpkin land-ish pictures. We were kind of confused when we got there....I think there is a lot more to it than we figured out because I have seen pictures of cool trails that I did not see when we were there. Oh Well...we still got one picture by some giant pumpkins, and we did get to gobble at some turkeys we saw. One had a huge goiter on it's face! The trip was worth it just to see that!
My brother has quite the green thumb and he has plans to grow the biggest pumpkin ever next year, so watch out for pictures of it when the time comes!!

Grumpy and Grandma Peanut!!

We had a good time taking a road trip with Matt's parents. They stayed with us for a few days before heading back to Montana. Savannah had a great time getting all sorts of attention. She is such a show off when visitors are here.

I tried to get a good picture before they left, but Savannah obviously didn't want to sit still, so these are what I got. I still think they are cute!

Grandpa was so nice to read Savannah stories and look at horsey pictures over and over,
