This is me, starting my leg that was all up hill. It was awful! I hadn't done any training on hills, and I thought I was going to die!Tuesday, June 30, 2009
Wasatch Back
Last weekend I got the chance to run the Wasatch Back relay with a group of people. It was really hard, but I'm glad I did it. It is a 188 mile relay from Logan to Park City. I ran with a team of 12 people that I didn't know before. We ran in the heat of the day, through the night, and in the rain the next day. It was intense, and I underestimated how hard it is to run when you have only had 1 1/2 hours of sleep, but we sure did run through some beautiful areas!

Salem Triathlon
Last month Matt and I did our first triathlon! It was a lot of fun!
A lot of people we knew did it, which made it even more fun. In this picture is Karen (in my ward and helped me train by taking me swimming all of the time), Matt's brother Mike, My brother Joe, Me, Matt, My brother Jake, and Corey (a work friend).
A group getting ready to start the swim. I'm not sure which group this is, but we all looked the same, so it doesn't really matter.
The race was exhausting for Savannah!
Sorry, no pictures of us in action. I can tell you we did look pretty hot in our wetsuits though!
Showing off some pretty impressive farmers tans along with our numbers and big guns!

I love the whole atmosphere of races! My favorite part was waiting in a huge line to use the porta-potties before the race. When it was finally my turn, a big handicap one opened up. The door didn't lock, but I didn't worry too much about it. That was a mistake. Someone came and busted open the door, so everyone in the huge line could see me. Then she just walks off and leaves the door open allowing me to show off some pretty impressive waddling skills to shut it myself! Awesome!

I've been having a rough time doing anything with this blog. Oh well! I thought I would give a quick update:
Savannah still loves all things princess! She is a little more into dressing up in her own clothes (6 outfits a day) than princess dress-ups, but still enjoys those too. She is always making us laugh with the crazy things she comes up with. She mimicks things we say all of the time. Yesterday, after getting on her dress for church, she comes down the stairs and asks, "Daddy, does this look okay?" Later, when Matt was leaving to visit someone, she yells out the door: "be a good boy out there, daddy!" We usually will give her two options to pick from in just about everything. She has picked up on this too, and is always coming up with crazy options for us. "Mom, are your eyes brown like mine or red like mine?" She is pretty random and a serious Drama queen! Today, when a fly landed near her, she yells to me: "Mom, I don't like bugs! I only like kitty-cats!" She also has a strange obsession with birthdays and is always taking about them. Almost everything she owns, she describes as the "one I got for my birthday". I don't know where she picked it up, since I am pretty certain she does not remember her last birthday.
Maxwell is growing up way to fast for my liking! He is a pretty speedy crawler and is in to everything. He has a huge appetite! It is hard to find things he won't eat! Currently, he is a pretty serious momma's-boy. He can hardly handle to have me in the same room with him without whining for me to hold him. He loves to wrestle and play with his sister, be outside, and did I mention he loves to eat? He also loves to babble and to have someone babble back to him. Other favorite activites include playing in water, slapping the window on the door (as seen in picture), playing peek-a-boo, swinging, and being tickled. He is always on the move and does NOT like to snuggle! Too bad for me.
Matt and I still seem to like each other! We had our 4th anniversary in April and got to spend the day in Salt Lake together to celebrate! We also spent a few days down at Zion National Park with the Platinum crew. This is our only picture of the week-end, but we had a lot of fun! We love it down there!
An attempt at a picture with the whole family. We love that it has been warm enough to play outside now. One of our new favorite things is our bike trailer. This picture was taken when we loaded the kids up in it and rode down to a park.
