New York City!!!!

Matt traveled to his New York office this week, so I decided to join him on this trip! We left Savannah with Jake and Krystal. (Thanks so much!!!) We clearly leave her with them too often, because she doesn't even know Krystal's name. She just calls her mom!!!
Anyway...it was a quick trip, but we had a lot of fun! The first day Matt was working all day, so I hung out with some of the wives in the office. Christi and Dani were so nice to take me all around in the city! We walked through Time Square just to check things out. They really do have the nicest girls in that office!! I was glad to not have to be alone all day.

The next day, Matt came with me into the city. I thought I was a pro with the public transportation system since I had been there the day before. We didn't get too lost, but we did do an awful LOT of walking! We are definately not city people! There are way too many people there for me, but it is a fun place to visit!

The temple was closed, but we walked by to see it! Isn't it pretty???

On top of the Empire State Building!

Waiting for the Subway...pretty exciting stuff for hicks like us!

Some cool break-dancers at Central Park. I am disappointed that I didn't get a picture of the girls doing some crazy interpret dance beforehand. There were some wackos there! Matt was disappointed he missed out on getting a picture of The Naked Cowboy. We passed him in a Taxi. He was wearing nothing but some whitey-tightys that said "The Naked Cowboy" and a cowboy hat. He was playing a guitar and singing at the top of his lungs!

We had this poor fellow pull us around Central Park on a bike. He had to know what he was in for, because he saw my size beforehand!! It was really pretty! We wish we had more time to spend in Central Park. There was a lot more to see. Our guide kept pointing out different spots and telling us movies that were filmed there. We didn't really know a lot of the movies and we couldn't really understand him anyway because of his thick accent, so we never really responded much. I figure he was pointing at Trump Tower when he said "See building there....something something...Apprentice....something...You are Fired!!" That is about all I caught!

All together it was a great trip! I wish we had more time, so we could have gone to a Broadway show or something, but it was fun just to be there. It was nice to have a little bit of time together!!!

What we have been up to!

I haven't been taking a whole lot of pictures lately because I always forget my camera, but we have been doing some fun stuff this last week. I will post pics when I get them from other people.
Last weekend, Matt and I got to go out to dinner with our Mission President and his wife. It was a lot of fun to be able to chat with them and catch up. Mike and Tiffany took Savannah, so we could actually visit. Thanks!!!
We also rented some canoes and went out to Salem Pond. Savannah loved it until we switched her life jacket to a smaller one that made her mad. It was fun, but the water in that pond is pretty gross. I can't believe people swim in that!! And that is coming from a girl who swam in the Sevier river growing up where having a dead cow float by was not a huge surprise!!! At least that water is moving!

This weekend, my brother and his wife came from Phoenix with their twin boys! It was fun to see them. We had a big BBQ at our house with the family then headed to Leamington to play! The boys all went fishing, then we rode go-carts and horses! We also got a call from my other brother who is serving in Iraq right now. We were excited to be able to talk to him!
It was fun to be able to spend some time together....Especially since Matt has been having to travel. Hopefully I will be able to go with him on a trip or two!

My parents on the go-cart! They are so hip! Matt and I rode up a canyon trail to see a waterfall (that wasn't really there) and the road was so bumpy, I thought I was going to go into labor!!! Don't worry though...baby is still inside!

Potty time!!

This morning, Savannah just got out of the bath. I take her to my room, slap a diaper on then make a quick phone call. Meanwhile....She gets up, runs to the end of the hall, rips off her diaper, runs back into my room, and pees on the floor. Are you kidding me??? At least it was only #1. We have had some trouble with going #2 in the bath tub for quite a while. I think it may finally be sinking in that that is a BIG no no!!! Every time she gets in the bath now, she repeats over and over "no poo-poo bath, no poo-poo bath" That is right no poo-poo bath! Because if I have to pull those toys out and clorox them all one more time...!! She even says it now when she sees a picture in her books of any animal standing in water! "no poo-poo water, elephant! no poo-poo water, horsey!"
I guess now we need to go over the "no pee-pee floor" routine! Hurray for being a MOM!!

ps..she can count to ten!! Who knew? It's not like we have never counted with her before, but we haven't really tried that hard to teach her. Then, this morning Matt starts counting and she finishes it off like its nothing and goes right back to eating her cheerios. Matt and I were just laughing because we had no idea!

Happy Mothers Day!!

I love when the primary kids sing on Mother's Day! It always makes me cry. This year, Matt and Savannah stayed at our seat, while I went up to sing with the kids. It was really sweet to see Savannah watching me and blowing me kisses! It's like she knew it was Mother's Day because she kept giving me big hugs and kisses during church! I always say I am not cut out to be a mother of a toddler, and I'm really not, but I am so greatful to be Savannah's mom!

Savannah in her blessing dress. She was blessed in the same dress I was blessed in. My mom made it for me, then fixed it up for her! I can't believe how little she is! Soon I will have one that little again!

I LOVE reading talks, so if you are interested....here are some links to some great talks for Moms!! An older one from Elder Holland and Elder Ballard's most recent one:

Fun Day!

We like Tuesdays because we get together with some other mommies to play! Now that it is warming up, we have been going to parks. Savannah mostly likes to climb up and down the stairs over and over, but sometimes she surprises me and goes down a big slide!

This week we found a park that is close to a sort of petting zoo! They have all sorts of animal, some of which I am not really sure what they are. Matt and I took Savannah a few days earlier and she loved it! Have I ever mentioned how much the girl likes animals??? Anyway, we went again with all of the kids on Tuesday.

This turkey was really funny because Savannah loved it until it started gobbling at her. She freaked out! She would cry and make me hold her. I told her the turkey was just saying hi to her. Through her terrified whines she would turn and look at it and say "Hi" back to the turkey, then turn right back and keep whining! It was pretty funny!

When we went earlier, she would ask what everything was and I told her. She didn't pay much attention to the emu though, which is why it was funny when we got there again and she points and says: "mommy, emu!" Well, yes Savannah, that is an emu!

I thought it was funny how she just sprawled out on my lap like this and used my big belly for a pillow. She must have been tired, because she just layed there forever eating crackers!

After the park, we headed to good ol' Leamington to say hi to Grandma and Papa. We try to keep ourselves busy since Matt is gone again this week. Savannah had a good time playing outside and with toys other than her own!

Crusin' in the go-cart with my little Punkin!

Eventful Weedend

We had a pretty busy weekend! Saturday morning we went to Salt Lake for my nephew, Jacob's baptism. He did a little dive into the font and took a lap around right before the baptism. It was pretty funny. He is a good kid and is really nice about playing with Savannah!

Jacob and his Dad!

After the baptism, we visited for a while, then headed to Manti for my cousin's wedding. It was an outdoor wedding, so Matt and I spent most of the time (well, the whole time) chasing around kids and trying to keep them entertained. There were baby goats, kitties, bunnies, horses and ponies, so Savannah thought she was in Heaven for a while. That did not stop her from being extra naughty though.

Savannah and Jersie swinging together!

Savannah had to step out of the wedding to take an important phone call.

Sunday morning, our little niece, Millie was blessed. She looked ravishing in the dress Grandma made her.

I had to run off to Primary right after the blessing, but Matt and Savannah got to stick around and hang out with family. On the way home they stopped by the cemetary with Nana to see Papa's grave. This is Savannah swinging with her Papa and Daddy! Since, I was not there afterward, we don't really have any other pictures!

silly rabbit!

These bunny ears came in Savannah's Easter basket. She didn't care at all about them then, but lately she has been finding them and running in the room with them on her head saying: "pitty boney" (pretty bunny) over and over!
