I'm going to make an effort to catch up on my blogging. It has been a crazy summer! Back in June we went camping up Oak City canyon with my family. My parents and 5 of the 7 siblings were there with their families. It was a lot of fun!
Grandma and Papa hanging out with the babies.
Sawyer's first camping trip. He did great!
Taking a million kids on a little hike.
Our little family. Sawyer is there too. See his little leg from behind my back.
The mighty hunters with their baby turkey. I wish I had pictures of the boys thinking they could sneak up on a deer and jump on it.
Maxwell found a little stick gun to shoot the bears.

Happy Birthday Maxwell
Maxwell turned 3 today!

This is the face I get every time I tell him to smile for me. Isn't he handsome? Any time I asked about his birthday, all he wanted was a "Blast off" cake. Anyone that told him "Happy Birthday", he would say "Happy Birthday" right back to them. He was pretty funny about it.
We just had a little BBQ at a park with our family that lives around.
Matt helped the kids fly a kite and play with Max's rocket present.
This kid is so messy! He is like the one-year-olds that you give them their cake to eat by themselves. He has this bad habit of wiping his messy hands on his hair. Anytime he gets food all over his hands he just figures he has a handy little napkin right on top of his head. It makes me a little crazy!
I don't even know what to say about this crazy kid! He can try my patience and then melt my heart in the same two minutes. It seems like everything he does is funny, and he is always making us laugh. Max completely makes up stories all of the time. I don't even know where he comes up with them. This week he was telling me all about his friend named Restaurant. Apparently he went to Restaurant's house and they thought there were sharks living there, so Restaurant ran around screaming "Ahhhh, sharks!"...Ya, pretty random stories like that are common around here.
Maxwell LOVES chocolate milk and coins (his "monies"). He has to have pockets in his clothes, so he can fill them up with all sorts of treasures. A few days ago, I empties his pocket to find a pair of sunglasses, a couple rocks, a toy car, and a pog slammer. (remember those?) That was just in one pocket.
Max's favorite foods are chips, tomato soup, and most meat. He loves "mean guys" in movies which are usually actually super heroes, but he thinks they look like mean guys. He loves to do tricks, and will preform for just about anybody. You can get him to go just about anywhere as long as you race him "super fast". He is recently potty trained, making him an official "big boy". He loves to play with his sister and baby brother. We sure do love him!

Rudolf birthday party
Savannah has a strange obsession with Rudolf, the red-nosed reindeer. She decided that she wanted her birthday party to be a Rudolf one which we discovered can be a little tricky in July.
We made Rudolf cupcakes,
Rudolf gift bags,
and played "pin the nose on the reindeer". (Not to toot my own horn, but I have some mad reindeer drawing skills wouldn't you say?)
She opened presents under the Christmas tree.
and the kids had a great time playing in the pool/water slide.
Painting pictures on the sidewalk.
She had a great time! She is lucky to have so many friends and cousins around!

Happy Birthday Savannah!
Savannah thinks it is pretty cool having her birthday on a holiday. She loves that everyone likes to celebrate it with fireworks!
We woke up early this morning, and she said: "Mom, how come I kind of look like I'm still four?" I think she thought she was going to grow bigger overnight. I let her pick what she wanted for breakfast and dinner. She decided on cinnamon rolls and grilled cheese sandwiches. Savannah still loves all animals, especially horses. Her favorite shows right now are Tangled and My Little Pony. She loves to color, and is starting to be a pretty good helper cleaning the house. She is lucky to have lots of friends in the neighborhood and lots of cousins her age. They are always playing house, and she always seems to be the pet horse in the game. Her pants never last long before there are big holes in the knees because she crawls around all day pretending to be a horse.
Savannah loves ice water, rudolf the red-nosed reindeer, strawberries, pizza, the hot tub, dresses, making up songs, slides, and her brothers! She is a very nice big sister. She loves to play with Maxwell and help take care of Sawyer!
We sure love you Savannah!
Montana
In early June, we took a trip to Montana to visit with Matt's family. Our nephew, Andrew was baptized and we were glad we could be there. Our kids had a great time playing with cousins all day every day! We love visiting in Belt. Montana is so beautiful!
This is Belt, the little town my hubby grew up in.
Every trip, we take a little walk to the swinging bridge that runs over the creek. It is a pretty cool bridge. Maxwell wasn't a big fan though. He is kind of a scaredy pants!

Finished!
I am finally starting to decorate my kids bedroom. Savannah and Maxwell share a room, so they have some cowboy/cowgirl decorations. I have been wanting to make them some quilts for their bunk-beds. I have a very talented neighbor that helped me out a lot. (Thanks Denette!) Savannah's is finally finished....now I just need to do Maxwell's.
Maxwell's will be the same; just with boy colors. Hopefully it won't take me quite as long, but it is kind of nice to just take my time and enjoy it!
